Description

I drew this comic book panel with my pen tablet as a digital workflow exercise in comic book creation, as described in The DC Comics Guide to Digitally Drawing Comics, by Freddie E. Williams II. I used the Brush tool for most of the drawing, with Shape Dynamics “off” for most of the initial steps and then “on” for the final wireframe and inks. The pressure sensitivity setting was usually around 3 pt (smaller for details, larger for contours). I colored in large areas with the Lasso tool. The background consists of an overlay brick pattern, clouds for a fog effect, lighting manipulation, and a shadow that I drew of one of the characters. Lastly, I added word balloons for interest.
